FARMERS GROUP In Kariapatti Block, Monsoon failure is acute and most of the land was rain fed one. Due to Monsoon failure the farmers had to suffer a lot and agricultural works become standstill for want of money. They found difficult to find their income source for their livelihood. As a result the farmers had to mortgage their land with the money lender at a rate of high interest. At the end they are not able to redeem their lands as the loan amount has been accumulated very high with interest. So the farmers need to get money for agriculture work for which they have been got trapped by the money lenders. As a step to make the farmers free from the clutches of the money lender, the Trust has extended help for farmers such as arranging linkage loan from the bank. Further the Trust has helped the farmers in a way providing Technical know-how of agriculture in collaboration with the Government Agriculture, Horticulture Departments, the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Madurai and the Regional Research Station Aruppukottai.
